Set up in 1993 as a lighting store in downtown Helsinki, Valotaina Oy Ltd is now a company specialized in product marketing. It operates mainly in the consumer goods sectors.

Valotaina has been among the pioneering manufacturers of light therapy devices.

In 2001, Valotaina successfully entered the Finnish food market after launching the first brand of low salt table olive, Päivänsäde. Other table olives, coffee and gazpacho now complete Valotaina's range of imported Spanish food produces.
